Vintage champagne is only made in years when the quality of the harvest is outstanding and the wines have great aging potential.
The pale yellow colour with flecks of gold gives the fresh appearance typical of chardonnay. The nose too is fresh, with hints of menthol at first, then notes of crème fraiche and almonds combine to delightful effect. The nose becomes more complex after a moment, intense with exotic fruits (pineapple) and a decided hint of toast.
On the palate the attack is lively and sustained and this leads seamlessly on to a fresh mineral finish that ends on a note of absolute purity. A solid, dense and straightforward wine.
